It has been a whole year of pain since we lost 219 Chibok girls to Boko Haram. Families were deprived of their young girls when they needed them most. We were saddened when the story broke out, yet they remain in captivity to this day. The tears of the young innocent girls gushed through our minds like river Kianji in the rainy season. What make them remain captives of Boko Haram till today remain a misery to us. Now we dream of freedom and re-union of the chibook school girls with their families.![]() |
Faces of Chibok Girls |
The scale of this conflict is so grim that the Chibok women represent just a part of those seized by the jihadists. Amnesty International says at least 2,000 women and girls have been abducted since the beginning of year 2014. Reports has it that many have escaped partly because of the recent military aggression - but not the Chibok girls. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said 2014 was marked by harrowing escalation of rape, sexual drudgery and forced marriages used by extremists including the Islamic State group and Boko Haram.
There have been a few sightings anywhere of some of the abducted students but it was a very few delegate of the girls. The aggression of Boko Haram grew strongly last year and it seems a challenge-insurmountable to our nation Nigeria, their exploits knew no national boundaries when they strike. But thanks to our gallant men of the arm forces of Nigeria and that of the Allied Forces that contained the excesses of BH in resent weeks especially during the elections.

We thank our arm forces for all their efforts to bring peace to Nigeria’s north east. We really appreciate your service to our dear country. We all want to urge you to do more and bring back our girls.
“To the women and men who have kept the plight of those kidnapped in Borno alive, one year on, more power to your elbows. #bringbackourgirls”
