The announcement stated the terrorists died as Nigerian troop engaged in gunfight and eventually foiled their attack on Sunday.
It noted that over 10 rifles, weapon add-ons, 1000s of rounds of ammunition and a many hand grenades were recovered from the field, as some of the terrorists fled with gunshot wounds.
It added that one soldier and a vigilante team member died, while another five had been wounded throughout the encounter.
