Information reaching Uyo TV is that players of The Football club of Taraba, FC Taraba, are protesting about the nonpayment of salaries and match bonuses up to ten months.The footballers take to the streets with tree branches heading towards the government house to tender their grievances publicly to their employers.
The protesting players was led by FC Taraba team captain, Kelvn Njoka, with security protection provided by heavily armed riot policemen.
Vanguard has it that the protesters were not allowed into the government house in Jalingo to meet with their employers. However, they met with some government officials at the gate.
Mr Njoka however, submitted the player’s complaints to the secretary to the state government of Taraba state lamenting about their total abandonment by the Taraba state government for more than ten months at the gate.
Njoka said the maltreatment of the team by the state government has affected their performance in the Nigerian Premier League. He further added that they were not in the right shape to go back into training for their premier league matches.

Mr. Jerason also admitted the poor treatment of the footballers and promised to address the issue with the state governor, Darius Ishaku.“We sympathized with you, as a responsible government we are committed to tackle challenges we inherited but sincerely we have inadequate resources at hand for now”

“Go back and train am going to detail your protest to the governor as soon as he returns from Abuja and your warfare shall be properly looked into” Jerason stated
Fc Taraba is lurking behind in the relegation zone of The Nigerian Premier League in the 19th position.
