Confirmed sources says that the suspected criminals were picked up in Ondo and Lagos States.
The arrest came after some soldiers on duty in Ondo state arrested one of the members of the group, who was travelling by road to spend his own part of the stolen money.
The soldiers were on a stop-and-search duty in Ondo state arrested the suspect while on his way to his home town in Okitikpupa, Ondo state, Southwestern Nigeria, with a Lexus SUV allegedly bought with his share of the stolen money.
During the stop and search exercise, the suspect was carrying in his bag, huge bundles of new N1000 notes with bank wrappers. Aware of the robbery incident in Lagos, the soldiers detained him and notified the Lagos state police command.

“The soldiers were on a stop-and-search and they found the suspect, identified only as Baba Ibeji, while on his way to his home town in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
“During a search, they found bundles of new N1,000 notes with bank seals in his bag.
“The soldiers, who were also aware of the bank robbery in Lagos, smelt a rat and contacted the Lagos State Police Command on the development.
“The former CP, Kayode Aderanti, immediately contacted experienced hands in SARS for the interview of the suspect. The suspect gave the contacts and names of other suspects. The operatives subsequently mobilised more officers to Ikorodu and made some arrests.
“Three suspects were picked up by the police in Ikorodu. Two of them had bought Sport Utility Vehicles with the proceeds. All of them had bought plots of land with their loots. Three vehicles have been recovered for now.”
Shortly after that, news broke out how the gang of Ikorodu bank robbers have been arrested by security operatives in Ondo.
During the robbery incident, monies were taken away but no staff nor was the customers of the banks killed. Only one person was reportedly shot in the leg and has been taken to Ikorodu General Hospital for treatment since.
The recent bank robberies in Ikorodu has forced residents in the area to seek the services of vigilante groups to stop a repeat of the incident in their community.
Meanwhile, the police had placed a whopping N5million bounty on anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of the remaining members of the gang.
